Outstanding Results Obtained in Supreme Court by Todd R. Alexander
LGE attorney Todd R. Alexander obtained an outstanding result for the firm’s client in a recent order issued by the Nevada Supreme Court. In a legal malpractice action in which Mr. Alexander was previously successful in obtaining summary judgment for the defendant law firm, a three-justice panel of the State’s high court recently affirmed the lower court’s summary judgment decision. Mr. Alexander defended the district court’s decision before the Nevada Supreme Court, which defense efforts included substantial briefing and oral argument. The Nevada Supreme Court ultimately agreed with Mr. Alexander that the plaintiff’s legal malpractice claim lacked the necessary causal connection between the purported malpractice and the plaintiff’s claimed damages. Mr. Alexander argued the case before Justices Pickering, Gibbons, and Parraguirre on September 5, 2019, and the high court’s decision was issued on January 23, 2020.
